Article PDF:

Massachusetts has implemented a few small-scale programs to help alleviate the problems posed by pro se litigation, but more is needed if it wants to significantly decrease these  problems. This Note suggests that Massachusetts follow the lead of other states and establish self-service centers in those courts that see the highest numbers of pro se litigants, sponsor evening clinics on specific areas of law where procedure is most complicated, and amend its rules to protect and encourage judges, attorneys, law students, and court staff who seek to assist pro se litigants.
