Executive Comment & Note Editor
Thomas Mark D’Amato Jr. (“T.J.”) is an Executive Comment and Note Editor for the New England Law Review Volume 54. He is a 3L J.D. candidate and will graduate in May of 2020 with an interest in criminal law. T.J. recently interned as a Student Prosecutor (SJC Rule 3:03) for the Essex District Attorney’s Office in Newburyport District Court. In that capacity, he represented the Commonwealth during arraignments, motion hearings, and other court proceedings, as well as drafted memoranda for supervising Assistant District Attorneys. Following his 1L year, T.J. interned for the Superior Court Trial Team of the Essex District Attorney’s Office, where he conducted legal research, drafted memoranda, observed court proceedings, and performed investigative work in preparation for trial. During the Spring Semester of 2L, T.J. interned for the Criminal Bureau of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, working specifically in the White Collar and Public Integrity Division.
T.J. is from Peabody, Massachusetts and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Institutional Politics from Bates College in 2016. He is an avid reader of American history and politics and is a diehard fan of the Red Sox, Celtics, and Pittsburgh Steelers.
