Kathryn Bassey

Kathryn Bassey (she/her) is an Associate Member of the New England Law Review, Volume 58. She is a Candidate for Juris Doctor, 2025.

In the summer of 2023, Kathryn was an intern in the clerk’s office of the Middlesex Juvenile Court, focusing on Child Welfare and Delinquency Law. For the next year, she hopes to pursue internships in human rights or criminal defense law. Kathryn is currently involved with the New England Law | Boston Transitional Justice in the United States research initiative as a research coordinator.

Kathryn is originally from Hudson Valley, New York. She attended Furman University in South Carolina and received a bachelor of arts in Politics, International Affairs, and Chinese Studies. She is also a commissioned officer in the United States Army as a second lieutenant and plans to work as a JAG officer after graduation. Kathryn previously worked as a JAG intern at Fort Benning, Georgia, a policy research intern for miscarriages of justice, and a grant writer for a post-incarceration non-profit. In her spare time, Kathryn enjoys reading and long-distance running.
