Lila Oursler

Lila Oursler (she/her) is an Associate member of the New England Law Review, Volume 58. She is a Candidate for Juris Doctor, 2025.

In the summer of 2019, Lila was a legal intern for the New York Supreme Court Justice Hon. Brian Burns and researched recidivism rates for drug court participants. In 2020, Lila interned for the law office of Schlather & Birch, where she focused on property law. She has also worked as a Research Assistant for The Jackson Laboratory researching stem cell differentiation and has interned for Senator James Seward. Lila is a legal intern for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office in the Child Protection Unit and hopes to continue working in prosecution. Lila is currently the President of the Criminal Law Society.

Lila is originally from Cooperstown, New York. She attended Milton Academy for High School. She then attended Hobart and William Smith Colleges, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy with a minor in Biology. Lila previously traveled abroad to Australia to study marine biology. Lila enjoys traveling and spent three months solo backpacking through Europe. In her spare time, Lila paints and writes poetry.
